Osteoporosis (bone thinning) is a condition in which the bones gradually lose strength, increasing the risk of fractures. Osteoporosis is often only discovered after a fracture, for example of the wrist, hip or a vertebra.
Physiotherapy plays an important role in treating and living with osteoporosis:
- weight-bearing exercise and strength training: targeted loading helps to preserve bone quality
- balance training and falls prevention: better balance reduces the chance of falling and therefore of fractures
- posture and movement advice: moving safely in daily life, including with vertebral compression fractures
Together we work towards a stronger, steadier body, so that you can keep moving with confidence. Please feel free to get in touch for more information.
